On Wifi Interstitials
Good thing: the increasing ubiquity of free wifi hotspots in airports. I don’t think I’ve been to a terminal that doesn’t have that so far on this trip, which is a tremendous improvement over a few years ago. (My EVDO card is a good backup, of course.)
Bad thing: the Accept Our Terms Of Service screens that these places throw up almost universally do not return you to the page you were on when you first connected and got their TOS screen.
Not a great big deal, obviously, and forewarned is fore-armed at this point, but it’d be nice to see that get figured out going forward.
No one, and I mean no one, is actually interested in looking at a given airport’s webpage and yet incapable of going to it on purpose if it’s what they want to see. We don’t need your help with this, folks.
But thanks for the free wifi.
