Road Trip Under Way

Fri 9/18 @ 7:21 AM

We’re currently driving south on state road 17 past Harriman State Park, which is not something we were planning to do, but we also weren’t planning to get onto 87 from 287 and once that happened (and “happened” seems like the right word for changing highways by not turning at all, harumph harumph) things just sort of went from there.

State 17 south is much, much prettier than 87 south (we’re driving through Sloatsburg right now!) and also isn’t sitting still, so aside from making us a little later into Philly than we we’re hoping it’s an okay development.

Only other bobble so far was when we got off at 95 at exit 21 — in Connecticut, instead of New York.  But Old Mill Road was kind of cute, and that didn’t take us long to correct, so, again: okie doke.

We were up early after a late night, me and my brother Alex (French Fry on Metafilter) keeping each other awake by having aggressively complicated discussions about e.g. whether swinger clubs should or should not actually involve swings, taking breaks to turn up the radio really loud and shout along to bad songs that we love anyway.  I’m feeling good.

And now we’re back on 287 S.  Which we just had to be careful to not accidentally get off of again.  Alex: “287.  It’s a bashful road.”

Philly, we’re totally gonna eat lunch with you if we manage not to end up in Florida.
