Anchor Brewing’s “Old Foghorn” barleywine beer.  Very tasty.
I hit up Anchor’s brewery tour with mefites rtha (who along with gingerbeer was hosting me in SF) and QuietGal.  Nice tour, has me feeling like I should hit up more local brewery tours in Portland now.  Tourguide was a nice guy, good story teller, and looked oddly like the main character from Office Space, though I erred on the side of caution as far as broaching that goes.
Fun fact: show me a bottling line and I will have the theme to Laverne & Shirley stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
After the tour came the tasting, and they weren’t shy about pouring full glasses, so by one o’clock we were in pretty good shape.  After that, we had a nice wander down 24th and then Valencia.
San Francisco is another item on my increasingly long list of places to return to.  It’s also probably the first one that I’ve seriously thought “I could live here” about, though that’s pretty academic since I could live in Portland even more and already do, to boot.
I have had a lot of beer on this trip; I regret now not documenting it a bit more (mefite ambient2 asked at last night’s meetup whether I had been tallying pints, and I wish I could have said “yes”), though usually the light isn’t this good.
